Reusable Packaging Concept
This was a 4 week project to develop a concept for a packaging system that would encourage the reuse of the packaging in a useful way.
The concept that me and my colleague, Lina Kim, developed was for a dry erase marker packaging system that doubled as a dry erase board eraser. This would allow all of the accessories that someone would need to use a dry erase surface in one compact piece.
We choose to use cardboard to allow the eraser to be recycled after use. We considered other materials, but decided that because dry erase erasers tend to have a limited number of uses before declining in utility, that ensuring that the packaging could be handled in a responsible way after use lead us to choose cardboard. The basic concept and structure could be applied to other materials in the future.
